2 April 2014 – International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach announced the composition of the IOC commissions for 2014 yesterday. President Bach has appointed Mr Ng Ser Miang, Vice-President of Singapore National Olympic Council and Chairman of Singapore Olympic Foundation, as the Chair of the Finance Commission.

Ng recently served as IOC Vice President (2009-2013) and was a member of the Executive Board from 2005-2013. The 65-year-old businessman and diplomat has served in numerous IOC commissions including the evaluation and coordination commissions of the London 2012 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Ng was also a member in the Finance Commission chaired by his predecessor and fellow IOC member, Mr Richard Carrion.

The Finance Commission supports the IOC Executive Board to safeguard the continuity of the IOC and the Olympic Movement’s activities through efficient management of its financial resources.

“I am humbled by the appointment made by President Bach. It is my privilege to continue serving my colleagues and friends at the IOC and contribute to the Olympic movement. I wish to carry on the good work achieved by Mr Richard Carrion and look forward to working with my colleagues to maintain the good financial health of the IOC,” said Ng.
